Quality Analyst

As a Software Quality Assurance Analyst for Anchor Insurance, you will be joining a team of dedicated professionals thriving to improve the experience of all who use, the policy administration system. You will ensure the proper processes for discovery, prioritization, and decision-making are followed in order to bring solutions to the Anchor Team. Your work will help deliver world class quality software to our users.

Essential Responsibilities:
Include the following; other functions may be assigned as business conditions change.

  • Translate business requirements into test cases to verify the software is functioning as per requirements and needs of Anchor Insurance.
  • Gather information to create a solid foundation for test cases when requirements or functional specifications are lacking detail or business needs have changed.
  • Validate the accuracy of the application’s functionality making use of automation tools whenever possible and available.
  • Adhere to processes in place and adapt to new processes as needed in regards to procedures, testing and test results.
  • Report defects in a complete and clear manner to ensure the defects are resolved quickly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with business analyst, project managers and developers to ensure the usability and performance needs.
  • Assist development when needed in reproducing those defects.
  • Identify problem areas and recommend ways to improve efficiencies and processes.
  • Perform other duties as required within a dynamic business environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related discipline.
  • Prior experience in the property and casualty insurance industry preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into test cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
  • Appreciates each team member’s contributions and values each individual member.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of quality assurance testing experience with web based applications.
  • Ability to write basic SQL queries.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office Suite.
  • Must be able to work under tight deadlines efficiently and with high quality.
  • Must possess strong organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt in a changing business environment maintaining a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
